Tips for keeping kids well-behaved at restaurants

Gulf Shores is a family beach destination, so we love welcoming kids to dine at Nolan’s Restaurant.

But parents get nervous sometimes about dining out with children, especially when they are young. Don’t be. Our staff is ready to handle family groups, no matter how large they are and no matter how young the kids are.

To help you relax and make it a more pleasant experience, they shared a few tips.

First, take advantage of our call-ahead seating at 251-948-2111. We try to get our guests seated as quickly as possible, but in the summer, it does get busy. And we understand that a wait can be tough on toddlers and young kids.

You can also request a table at our patio bar. The wait is not as long, and our lounge menu includes items like steak burgers, grouper fingers and wings. And our patio has a nice view of Little Lagoon.

Another suggestion is to have some paper and colored pencils, or small toys to keep the attention of the kiddos.

Last, but not least, express to our staff what you need. If the adults are having appetizers that the kids won’t enjoy, ask us to bring their entrees at the same time as the starters. Or, by all means, pull out the Cheerios or crackers for the baby or toddler.

We want your family dining experience to be a good one, and our servers work with you to make that happen. Most of all, relax and enjoy. It’s your vacation, after all. We’re here to make it a great one.
